Climate FAQs

When is the best time to travel?

It depends entirely on the destination. As a rough guide, May – September suits Europe and the Mediterranean, December – April suits the tropics (Maldives, Barbados, southern Sri Lanka), and April – May or September – October are the comfortable shoulder months for most of Asia. See each country guide on this page for specifics.

Will my trip be affected by monsoon or hurricane season?

We design itineraries around regional weather patterns. Sri Lanka can be visited year-round because the two monsoons hit opposite coasts at different times, and the Maldives stays warm even in its wet season. We will always advise you on the realistic conditions before you book.

What should I pack for variable climates?

Layers, a light waterproof, and SPF 50+ cover most destinations. For Patagonia, Peru, the Atlas Mountains and the Alps, add a warm fleece and a windproof shell. For tropical trips, bring reef-safe sunscreen and mosquito repellent.

Do you offer trips designed around the weather?

Yes. Every PURE ONE Travel departure is timed to land in the best weather window for that destination. If you have specific dates that fall outside the ideal window, our Tailor Made team can build an itinerary that works around the conditions.
