Language Journeys in Spain

10 Days Learn Spanish in Madrid

10 days Spain Adult-only small group

About this journey

More than a study trip. More than a holiday.

Our Language Journey to Madrid is a carefully curated cultural and linguistic immersion designed for English-speaking participants who want to experience Spain through language…not as spectators, but as active participants.

Delivered under our PURE ONE Language brand, this programme blends structured Spanish tuition with meaningful cultural exploration. Over five consecutive mornings, participants complete 15 hours of professionally guided Spanish lessons (3 hours per day), building practical communication skills, confidence and fluency. Each afternoon, the classroom moves into the streets, museums, markets and historic cities that shape Madrid’s identity.

From the historic heart of the capital to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Toledo and the monumental Monasterio de El Escorial, this journey connects language to lived experience. Culinary traditions are explored through a hands-on Spanish cooking workshop, while facilitated local exchange sessions encourage authentic dialogue beyond the classroom.

Spanish is not simply studied. It is lived.

Day 1

Welcome to Madrid!

Day 2

Historic Madrid: Foundations of Culture

After breakfast, the immersion begins with your first 3-hour structured Spanish language session, led by certified native instructors. The focus is on practical communication, essential structures and everyday interaction.

In the afternoon, Madrid’s historic centre becomes your classroom. A guided walk through Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor reveals the city’s evolution over centuries. Continue towards the Palacio Real de Madrid (exterior visit) and the vibrant Mercado de San Miguel. You will be encouraged to apply your morning vocabulary in real contexts, transforming your observation into active communication.

Day 3

The Language of Art & Expression

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, you will begin your second 3-hour Spanish session, which focuses on descriptive language, expressing opinions and developing conversational confidence through interactive exercises and small-group practice.

In the afternoon, art becomes the vehicle for expression at the Museo del Prado. Standing before masterpieces of Spain’s Golden Age, participants practise interpreting and discussing artworks in Spanish. A gentle stroll through Parque del Retiro allows space for informal conversation and reflection.

4
Day 4

Narrative Skills & Toledo’s Cultural Legacy

This morning’s third 3-hour Spanish class deepens narrative structures and travel-related vocabulary, enabling participants to describe experiences with greater nuance. In the afternoon, travel to Toledo, a UNESCO World Heritage city shaped by Christian, Jewish and Muslim heritage. The guided exploration includes the Catedral de Toledo and the historic Jewish Quarter.

Participants are invited to reflect in Spanish on coexistence, identity and cultural legacy, applying the language skills developed earlier that morning.

5
Day 5

Social Spanish & Gastronomy

Following breakfast, your fourth 3-hour Spanish session will begin, centring on social interaction, culinary vocabulary and spontaneous conversation. Role-play and guided discussions simulate real-life situations such as dining and hosting.

In the afternoon, language and cuisine come together during a hands-on Spanish cooking workshop. Preparing traditional dishes becomes an opportunity for authentic communication, followed by shared tasting and conversation.

6
Day 6

Professional Communication & Contemporary Madrid

Your final structured 3-hour Spanish lesson focuses on professional communication, networking language and expressing complex ideas clearly. Participants consolidate grammar, refine pronunciation and strengthen real-world confidence.

In the afternoon, discover contemporary Madrid. From the architectural elegance of Gran Vía to panoramic views from Círculo de Bellas Artes, explore how tradition and innovation coexist in the capital’s creative districts.

With five consecutive days of structured tuition completed, the programme transitions into deeper cultural immersion with greater linguistic independence.

7
Day 7

Royal Legacy & Mountain Traditions

Today’s excursion takes you to the monumental Monasterio de El Escorial in San Lorenzo de El Escorial.

During the guided visit, reflect on Spain’s imperial history, leadership and national identity. With formal classroom sessions now complete, participants engage more independently in Spanish during guided discussions and informal exchanges.

8
Day 8

Local Life & Cultural Exchange

This day focuses on everyday Madrid life…neighbourhoods, markets and authentic interaction.

A facilitated Spanish language exchange session with local residents or students encourages spontaneous communication and cultural dialogue. Without the structure of the classroom, participants experience the confidence that comes from true immersion.

9
Day 9

Integration & Celebration

The final morning session is dedicated to reflection and integration. Participants review their linguistic progress, share cultural insights and articulate personal takeaways from the journey.

The afternoon offers time for last discoveries, a favourite museum, a final walk, or simply soaking in Madrid’s atmosphere.

In the evening, a farewell dinner celebrates both achievement and connection. Certificates are presented in a warm and celebratory setting.
