Glimpses of the journey

Your itinerary
A carefully paced journey with time to wander, taste and discover.
Welcome to Lima!
Arrive in Peru’s captivating capital, where Pacific sunsets meet colonial grandeur. You will be met at the airport and privately transferred to your stylish hotel. The air is warm, the atmosphere vibrant, and your South American adventure begins. Relax this evening or step out to sample your first taste of Peru’s celebrated cuisine. Overnight in Lima.
Lima: Colonial Beauty & Ancient Civilisations
Today you step into history. Wander through Lima’s historic Plaza Mayor, where conquistadors once stood and grand cathedrals now tower. Explore elegant colonial streets, admire carved balconies, and feel the pulse of a city where past and present coexist beautifully. Lunch is served in refined surroundings at Café del Museo Larco, a perfect introduction to Peru’s globally acclaimed culinary scene. In the afternoon, enjoy a private guided visit of the Larco Museum, home to one of the most important collections of pre-Columbian art in the world. Gold, ceramics, textiles…stories of ancient Peru come vividly to life. Overnight in Lima.
Into the Andes: Cusco & the Sacred Valley
This morning you fly into the Andes, arriving in Cusco, once the capital of the Inca Empire. Rather than rushing, we descend gently into the Sacred Valley, allowing your body to acclimatise while your eyes take in breathtaking scenery of terraced hillsides and snow-dusted peaks. En route, visit Manos de la Comunidad to meet alpacas and learn about the intricate weaving traditions that define Andean culture. The rest of the day is yours to relax and absorb the stillness of the valley. Overnight in the Sacred Valley.
Living Traditions in the Andes
Today is something truly special.
Travel to the remote community of Willoq, where Quechua traditions remain beautifully preserved. Here, this is not a performance; this is everyday life. Here you will have an excellent opportunity to learn and watch the ancient art of weaving, spinning and dyeing in a demonstration. A traditional pachamanca feast is prepared underground using hot stones, a celebratory Andean meal shared together. You will also take part in a sacred “Payment to the Earth” ceremony, offering gratitude to Pachamama, Mother Earth, a powerful and humbling experience. Return to your hotel with a deeper understanding of Peru’s living culture. Overnight in the Sacred Valley.
Sacred Valley Wonders & Scenic Train to Machu Picchu
Today reveals some of the Sacred Valley’s most striking landscapes. Marvel at the cascading salt terraces of Maras, shimmering white against the mountainside. Stand inside the extraordinary circular terraces of Moray, an ancient agricultural laboratory that still feels futuristic. Explore Pisac’s vibrant market before enjoying lunch in beautiful surroundings. Later, wander through the imposing Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo, its massive stone terraces rising dramatically above the valley floor. In the afternoon, board the panoramic Vistadome train. As the tracks wind along the Urubamba River, anticipation builds. Arrival in Aguas Calientes, nestled beneath the mountains that hide Machu Picchu.
Machu Picchu: The Lost City of the Incas
There are moments in travel you never forget. This is one of them.
Rise early and take the shuttle bus up through mist-covered slopes to Machu Picchu. As the clouds shift and the citadel reveals itself, you understand why this is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. With your expert guide, explore the terraces, temples and sacred spaces of this extraordinary site. Learn how it was built, why it was abandoned, and why it continues to captivate the world. There is time to pause. To absorb. To simply stand in awe. After lunch in Aguas Calientes, return by train through the valley and continue to Cusco.
Cusco: Where Empires Collide
Cusco is a city like no other.
Inca stonework forms the foundations of Spanish colonial buildings. Narrow cobbled streets lead to grand plazas and hidden courtyards. Explore the Cathedral and the magnificent Coricancha (Temple of the Sun), once the spiritual heart of the Inca Empire. See the famous twelve-angled stone, a masterpiece of precision engineering. Later, visit the extraordinary ruins above the city: the vast stone walls of Sacsayhuamán, the ceremonial site of Qenqo, the red fortress of Puca Pucará and the tranquil water channels of Tambomachay. In the evening, celebrate your journey with a traditional dinner and folk performance.
Goodbye Peru…
After breakfast, enjoy some free time before you transfer to the airport for your internal flight back to Lima and then home.
You leave with photographs…yes. But more importantly, with stories, connections and memories that will stay with you long after the Andes disappear from view.
