Glimpses of the journey

Your itinerary
A carefully paced journey with time to wander, taste and discover.
Welcome to the Julian Alps
Arrive in the breathtaking Julian Alps and transfer to the charming alpine village of Gozd Martuljek, just moments from Kranjska Gora. This peaceful setting, framed by dramatic peaks and spruce forests, will be your base for the week. Depending on your arrival time, stretch your legs with a gentle walk towards the Martuljek waterfalls, hidden within a dramatic gorge beneath the towering Špik mountain. Alternatively, simply unwind on the terrace with a drink, breathing in the crisp mountain air as the pace of everyday life fades away. In the evening, meet your fellow travellers and tour manager for a welcome dinner – your first taste of hearty alpine hospitality.
Soča River Adventure: Kayaking & Alpine Scenery
oday is pure alpine drama.
Travel over the legendary Vršič Pass, climbing through 50 winding serpentines with panoramic views across Triglav National Park. Pause at Lake Jasna for those first postcard-perfect reflections, and visit the historic Russian Chapel, quietly nestled among the trees. Descending into the Soča Valley, the landscape softens into lush forest and the unmistakable turquoise ribbon of the Soča River. In Bovec, Slovenia’s adventure capital, gear up for a guided kayaking experience on a calm and scenic stretch of the river. Over 1.5–2 hours, paddle through crystal-clear waters surrounded by towering peaks…accessible, exhilarating and unforgettable. After free time for lunch, enjoy a gentle hike along the Soča Trail, crossing suspension bridges and following riverside paths through one of Europe’s most pristine alpine valleys. You will then return to your hotel via a scenic drive through Italy, arriving back in time for dinner.
Gorges, Lakes & High Alpine Views
This morning, explore the stunning Vintgar Gorge, where wooden walkways wind above rushing emerald waters, waterfalls and sculpted rock formations. It’s immersive, photogenic and wonderfully atmospheric.
Continue to Lake Bohinj, the quieter and more untouched sibling of Lake Bled. Ascend by cable car to Vogel Mountain, rising above 1,500 metres for sweeping views across the Julian Alps. Enjoy a relaxed ridge walk before sitting down to a traditional mountain hut lunch with unforgettable views.
Later, hike to the iconic Savica Waterfall, dramatically plunging into a narrow rocky basin. The trail is short but rewarding.
Return to Lake Bohinj for free time by the water… perhaps a coffee by the shore or simply a moment to pause and take it all in, before heading back to your hotel for dinner.
Škocjan Caves & Wine Country
Today combines natural wonder with refined indulgence.
Travel south to explore the spectacular Škocjan Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Descend into vast underground chambers and cross dramatic bridges suspended above the roaring Reka River, an extraordinary geological masterpiece. From subterranean landscapes to sunlit vineyards, continue west to Goriška Brda, Slovenia’s charming wine region, often compared to Tuscany. At a carefully selected family-run winery, enjoy a guided tasting of local varietals paired with a light lunch of regional specialities. Afterwards, explore the rolling hills by e-bike, gliding through vineyards and quiet country lanes with plenty of scenic stops along the way. Return to the Julian Alps in the early evening. The remainder of the night is at leisure.
Lodgar Valley
Today’s journey takes you to one of Slovenia’s most beautiful glacial valleys, Logar Valley, nestled within the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. Enjoy a gentle walk along the valley floor, passing wooden farmhouses, alpine meadows and forest streams. At the end of the trail, reach Rinka Waterfall, where the Savinja River cascades dramatically down a rocky cliff. Continue to the nearby village of Solčava to visit the Rinka Cultural Centre, where you’ll gain insight into the traditions, sustainable forestry and pastoral life that shape this remarkable region. Return to your hotel for a final farewell dinner in the mountains…a fitting end to an unforgettable week.
